Adult Colored Pencil Drawing Workshop – Tuesdays – Holly Errigo

Classes are every Tuesday in April and May 2018, from 12pm – 1:30pm

Age: Adults

Cost: $125 for MACC Members $150 for Non-Members. Payment can be submitted as cash or a check made payable to the Monthaven Arts & Cultural Center.

All supplies provided by instructor

Workshop objectives:

  • Develop an understanding of colored pencil as an art medium
  • Learn drawing comprehension and skills
  • Observe and test a variety of shading and blending techniques
  • Work from real life and nature, or photographic images.
  • Grisaille, layering, color value and temperature along with basic drawing principles
  • Individual guidance and instruction will be given to each participant.

Materials:
Prismacolor in a complete range of color and value, 2B and HB Graphite Pencils
Strathmore 500 Illustration Board, 10 ply, cold press, Stonehenge, white paper, and Canson Mi-tiens neutral colors

About the Instructor:
Holly Errigo is a Visual Artist, Arts Instructor and Education Coordinator for Monthaven Arts and Cultural Center, located in Hendersonville Tennessee. Holly Errigo brings over 10 years experience from multiple arts educational environments. She brings a combination of arts education practices, management experience, leadership ability and a passion for the arts. The past 4 of those years have been spent working for the MACC in a variety of capacities: Teaching Artist, Program Manager, and Curriculum Developer/Writer.  Holly Errigo received her Masters Degree in Art Education from the University of Tennessee Knoxville in 2012. She is certified by the State of Tennessee to teach K-12 in the Visual Arts and has experience teaching at the Frist Center for the Visual Arts, Cheekwood Art Museum and Botanical Gardens, The Knoxville Museum of Art, and art teacher for Sumner County for five years.
