Originally from Pittsburgh, Barb has a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Indiana University of PA and the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. For 20 years, Barb had a career as a graphic designer and illustrator. During this time, she and her husband moved to Indianapolis, where Barb discovered Monart, a unique methodology of teaching children and adults how to draw. Barb personally trained under Mona Brookes, founder of Monart and author of, “Drawing with Children” and “Drawing for Teens and Adults”. In 2000, Barb opened her first Monart Drawing School. That one school grew to include 3 more locations in the Indianapolis area, and she and her team of teachers taught drawing and painting to thousands of children and adults. Barb and her husband recently moved to Gallatin, and she is thrilled to be offering Monart drawing classes to the students and families of Monthaven Arts and Cultural Center.
