Plein Air Watercolor Painting Workshop with Todd Saal

Join master watercolorist TODD SAAL Saturday, June 20 from 2-5 PM at Monthaven Arts and Cultural Center. Saal frequently paints rural and urban subject matters and his strength is teaching people who are unfamiliar with watercolor, helping you to demystify watercolor painting and make it accessible for everyone.

Materials will NOT be provided, and the event will be held outside.

Feel free to bring whatever supplies you are most comfortable in using. The items listed below are meant as guidelines.

~Sketch Pencil
~White or kneaded eraser
~Watercolor Paper: loose ¼ sheets (11×15) or similarly sized watercolor blocks.
~A lightweight board and masking tape to adhere the paper to the board.
~Watercolor Palette: Whatever you’re comfortable with but should have a few larger areas for mixing Pigments (Tube pigments, pans/cakes do not give us the ability to get the thicker consistencies.)
~Brushes (suggested 3… 1 mop and 2 rounds)

Miscellaneous: we will work under a pavilion, but you can bring a hat, sunscreen, and a small water mister (optional)

You can reserve your spot by contacting Monthaven Arts and Cultural Center at (615) 822-0789.
