The Lyrical Cowboy: Rhythms, Rhymes and Rodeos is a celebration of the American cowboy tradition and the music that made him both famous and infamous, as well as relevant today. With more than 40 paintings, sculpture and photographs from the Booth Western Art Museum paired with lyrics from traditional and contemporary songs, this exhibition reveals how music helped make the cowboy such an enduring symbol of America around the world, and symbolic of freedom here at home. And, don’t forget the cowgirls, who have their own story to tell.
